"** No spoilers but the scene where Claudia meets Gregory in the car ride with Asher - will live rent free in my head as one of the funniest four lines I have read in a book this year.
Definitely recommend reading the trigger warnings for this one - it has subject matter that I can empathize could be upsetting to some readers and the warnings do an excellent job of letting you know if this is the right book for you or not. Personally, I did find one or two scenes a bit “dark” but make no mistake I was not expecting roses and chocolates from this MMC at any given moment - so it fit within the narrative.
For a debut novel by an indie author I was blown away by the clear writing style and how easily I sunk into their story - the main female character Asher is written is such perfect way - like she is absolutely ruthless but not in a cliche sense, she is scared and imperfect, but fabulous."
"Do not get me wrong the MMC (Cain) is a great time - I did find myself wishing he would be more “touch her and die” earlier in the book but the plot eventually explains itself out. On the other hand, his two besties stole the show for me Atlas is EVERYTHING and Lucifer was THE WORST until he was THE BEST 🤍
